Burkina Faso won two medals on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Abomey during the Benin National Athletics Championships. Jean Claude excelled in the triple jump, securing the gold medal with a jump of 15.15 m.

In the 1500 m event, Boly A. Aziz also helped Burkina Faso reach the podium. The Burkinabé athlete finished in second place with a time of 3:54.45, earning him the silver medal.

The competition continues on Saturday with several Burkinabé athletes in action. Tamini Junior will participate in the 100 m final, which has been postponed to Saturday morning due to rain and poor visibility conditions.

Daouda Coulibaly will compete in the javelin and discus events. Nana Blaise will also compete in the hurdles, specifically in the 110 m hurdles and 400 m hurdles.
