Mohamed Abdel Monsef, the goalkeeping coach for the Egyptian U-20 national team, confirmed that the North African Championship qualifiers provided an important opportunity for preparation and strong competition for the Pharaohs ahead of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Abdel Monsef explained in statements to ON Sport that the tournament featured matches against some of the top teams in the region, including Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya.

Qualification Confirmation and Preparation for the Finals

Abdel Monsef expressed his gratitude to God for successfully securing the top spot in the continental tournament and guaranteeing a ticket to the Africa Cup of Nations finals scheduled in Ghana, following a 2-0 victory over Algeria in the decisive round.

The Pharaohs' goalkeeping coach noted that the technical staff will completely close the qualifiers file to immediately begin preparations for the continental tournament, emphasizing that time is tight and requires extra focus to meet the expectations of Egyptian fans.

The roster for the Egyptian U-20 national team includes goalkeepers: Omar Abdel Aziz – Iyad Tamer – Youssef Al-Bashir, and in defense: Iyad Medhat – Mohamed Abdel Basir – Abdullah Bdeir – Omar Al-Amin – Nour Ashraf – Mohamed Awad – Mohamed Farag – Hamza Al-Dajwi – Mohannad Al-Shami.
