Just like on Thursday against Atalanta, Abdellah Ouazane scored a stunning goal at Het Kasteel with an impressive strike.

The talented Moroccan told ESPN that this goal was certainly not a fluke. “We worked for this goal. There was a lot of space with the goalkeeper in the opposite corner. We kept this strategy in mind, and it worked well. We carefully observed the goalkeeper's movements.”

He expresses his gratitude towards his teammate Berghuis for this. “I started watching videos of him thanks to Steven Berghuis. I often put myself in a shooting position, but I shoot too hard and too erratically. I scored this goal because I had checked beforehand that there was a lot of space in the opposite corner.”

Unlike Thursday, Ouazane was once again named in the starting lineup on Sunday. The midfielder/winger has no particular issues with player changes.

“I show a lot of patience. I wait for my chances and take them. It doesn't matter what position I play. I want to give my best. I love to dribble past my opponent. And not just once, but several times per match. And if it doesn't work at some point, I try not to give up.”

Ajax ultimately triumphed against Sparta, largely thanks to a remarkable performance from Marc ter Stegen, with whom Ouazane has a good relationship. “I talk a lot with him. We also have dinner together. I am happy for him. But I think he is satisfied with me too.”
