Ahmed Nabil, the football director of Abu Qir Fertilizers, confirmed that the separation from Magdy Abdel-Aaty, the former coach of the team, was amicable and took place in an atmosphere of mutual respect. He praised the efforts made by the coach and his team during the recent period.
In televised statements, Ahmed Nabil stated that Magdy Abdel-Aaty put in significant effort since the beginning of the preparation period and managed to achieve good performances in most matches, even though this did not reflect in the results as desired.
The football director explained that the difficulty of the league schedule affected the team's performance, especially with matches against Al Ahly, Zamalek, and Pyramids in the first six rounds. He emphasized that Abu Qir Fertilizers performed well against opponents with great capabilities.
He added that the decision to terminate the contract with Magdy Abdel-Aaty came as part of mutual appreciation, noting that the former coach was one of the distinguished personalities who dealt with the club in a professional manner, wishing him success in his next step.
Nabil pointed out that the experience of participating in the league for the first time witnessed developments on both financial and administrative levels, but the team faced a lack of luck in recent matches, despite the significant efforts from the coaching staff and players.
He continued: "The coach, like the player, may go through a period where he feels that the game is against him, but we all appreciate that Magdy Abdel-Aaty worked hard and gave his best, and we wish him success in the upcoming phase."
