The management of Al Ahly Club has decided to postpone discussions regarding the signing of Mustafa Shikshik, the right-back for Al Ahli Tripoli, who has recently been linked with a move to the Red Castle.
Al Ahly decides to postpone discussions on signing Shikshik to strengthen the right flank until the end of the season.
Al Ahly Delays Strengthening Right-Back Position
The postponement decision comes as Al Ahly's management aims to rearrange their priorities for team reinforcement, especially since the right-back position currently includes four players capable of performing well: Mohamed Hani, Akram Tawfik, Karim Fouad, and Ahmed Eid, in addition to young right-back Ibrahim Al Isyouti, who is currently in the final rehabilitation stage after an ACL surgery. If Mohamed Hani departs at the end of his contract this season, it is likely that the club will consider strengthening the right flank at that time.
The management and coaching staff believe that enhancing this position is not an urgent priority at the moment, compared to other positions that require more immediate support. The defense line is at the forefront of these positions, as Al Ahly seeks to secure at least two new signings to increase the options available to the coaching staff and address the gap in this area following Amr Al Jazar's ACL injury, in addition to the declining performance of players in this position and the increasing likelihood of Yasser Ibrahim leaving due to the lack of a contract renewal with the club so far.
The Al Ahly management also wishes to strengthen the midfield with a signing that can provide the team with more strength and balance. Al Ahly is expected to reassess the situation of Mustafa Shikshik in the upcoming period, based on the team's final needs and the coaching staff's vision, especially since this vision was the reason for postponing the idea of signing Tarek Alaa, the right-back for Zed FC.
