The Algerian national rowing team concluded its participation in the African Championship held in Tunisia on the shores of the lake, finishing in third place overall behind Tunisia and Egypt.

The Algerian rowers achieved impressive results, winning a total of 13 medals (3 gold, 7 silver, and 3 bronze).

This continental event saw an exceptional performance from Algerian champion Nahid Ben Chadhli, who continued to make history after her unique Mediterranean achievement in Taranto 2026 (the first silver medal for Algeria in the history of the Mediterranean Games). Ben Chadhli demonstrated her dominance in Tunisia by winning two gold medals: the first in the women's single sculls (W1x) and the second in the women's double sculls (W2x) alongside her distinguished teammate Lilia Mekdad.

The third gold medal for Algeria highlighted the strength of the youth base, thanks to the duo of Saif Eddine Khenouch and Dhiab Allah Aissani, who secured the precious metal in the under-23 men's double sculls (BM2x).

The remaining medals (silver and bronze) that bolstered Algeria's tally were distributed as follows:

Under-23 category: 3 silvers won by Marwa Lakh and Bashir Haddou in the single sculls (BW1x), and Lilia Mekdad in the lightweight single sculls (BLW1x), in addition to a bronze for Saif Eddine Khenouch in the single sculls (BM1x).

Under-19 category: a silver for the duo Ghazlan Goul and Ghazlan Ben Nasser in the double sculls (JW2x), and a bronze for Manal Haddadou in the single sculls (JW1x).

The national team started the competition strongly, finishing the first day in third place with a total of 7 medals (1 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze), before raising their overall tally to 13 medals by the end of the races, confirming the status of Algerian rowing as a major force on the African stage.
