Algeria national team: Hemdani will announce his squad on this date

The wait for the supporters of the Greens is finally coming to an end. The Algerian Football Federation recently announced that Brahim Hemdani will address the media this Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 15:00, in the "Mohamed Sellah" conference room at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Baraki. The new coach of the Greens will unveil the list of players selected for the gathering scheduled from September 21 to October 6, 2026.

It is therefore at the Nelson Mandela Stadium that the national coach will make his first choices. This moment is highly anticipated, as renewing the squad has been a stated priority since this summer.

This meeting will especially mark the true beginning of the technician's journey, whose appointment as head of the senior team was confirmed in early September by the Federal Bureau, which met in Sidi Moussa last month.

A training camp of more than two weeks to start the cycle of the Greens

The duration of the gathering is noteworthy. Sixteen days of work is much longer than a typical gathering during a FIFA window. This extended format reflects a clear intention: to have time to establish automatisms, evaluate profiles, and lay the foundations for a playing project.

The staff surrounding the coach should also be operational from the first sessions. Antar Yahia serves as the assistant coach, while Moussa Saïb has been appointed general manager of the team.
