Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta expressed his hope for a bigger victory against Arab Contractors after his team, Al Ahly, managed to secure a narrow 1-0 win in the second round of the Cairo Capital Cup, with the goal scored by Moroccan player Achraf Bencharki.
Amouta: I hoped to achieve a victory by a larger margin against Al Mokawloon, and Imam Ashour is not eligible yet.
Hussein Ammouta's Statements
During the post-match press conference, Ammouta said: "I wished my team could score more goals. I know there has been difficulty in converting chances into goals since the start of the season, and this is something we are working to improve in the coming period."
The Al Ahly coach added: "Imam Ashour is not fully ready to participate in matches, but he will be available in the near future. Dealing with star players requires a special approach, and he is committed in terms of training, daily life, and matches to show a good level."
Ammouta continued: "Our goal in the Cairo Capital Cup is to compete for the title and win the tournament, while also giving some young players the opportunity to participate and gain experience."
The coach concluded his remarks by explaining why Achraf Bencharki was not included in the starting lineup, confirming that the technical staff preferred to rest key players, which led him to not rely on the player from the start of the match, before he came on and scored the winning goal in the 93rd minute.
With this victory, Al Ahly has raised its points tally to 6, sitting at the top of Group C in the Cairo Capital Cup after defeating Arab Contractors 1-0.
