Aouar Scores His First Goal in the Saudi League
Algerian international, Houssem Aouar, regained his scoring touch by netting the second goal for his team Al-Ittihad against Al-Ettifaq in a match held today, Tuesday, as part of the Roshn Saudi League.
The midfielder scored his goal in the 53rd minute, following a low cross from his Nigerian teammate George Elinchehina, who set the ball up perfectly for Aouar to find himself in a good position and finish with ease.
This goal marks Aouar's first in the Saudi League for the 2023-2024 season, after seven rounds in which he played all as a starter without scoring.
The forward for the Greens also ended a 70-day goal drought, as his last goal was on August 11, when he contributed to Al-Ittihad's victory over Al-Jazira of the UAE with a score of 4-1 in the preliminary round of the AFC Champions League.
Since then, Aouar has played ten matches across various competitions, including the Saudi League, King Salman Cup, and AFC Champions League, without finding the net, until he finally broke his scoring curse against Al-Ettifaq, bringing his tally to two goals this season across all competitions.
