ASKO suffered a 3-2 defeat in Bamako on Sunday against FC Diarra in the first leg of the second round of the CAF Cup. However, the Kondona remain hopeful ahead of the return match.

The first leg of the second round of the CAF Cup was disappointing for the Togo vice-champions. With a firm intention to reach the group stage, the Kondona quickly saw their hopes diminish. After taking the lead in the 13th minute, Mery Traoré doubled the score with a penalty in the 28th minute. A third goal was conceded by the Kondona in the 41st minute, but they managed to reduce the deficit before halftime.

Back on the pitch, ASKO chose to increase the tempo. The coaching staff made tactical adjustments and substitutions. This strategy paid off. The Kondona became more threatening and created multiple chances, managing to score another goal.

Now, with a goal deficit, ASKO keeps its hopes alive ahead of the return leg. FC Diarra finishes this first encounter with a one-goal advantage. The Malian club will look to preserve it next week in Lomé.
