The Cameroon national team for the 3rd and 4th matchdays of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations has been announced. Some players, although widely anticipated, are not on the coach's list. David Pagou explains his decisions.

André Onana, Yvan Dibango, Christian Kofane, … These are just a few players who will miss the double-header between Cameroon and Namibia. Recently, the Cameroonian goalkeeper has shown impressive performances with Trabzonspor. However, David Pagou believes there are other talents in that position. “Cameroon has always had excellent goalkeepers. So far, we are happy with the choices we have made”. This could mark the end of the international career for the former Manchester United and Inter Milan goalkeeper.

In addition to André Onana, Yvan Dibango is also facing the consequences of strong competition in his position, according to the coach. The LASK defender is participating in the Champions League this season. But Pagou is convinced that he “has other options.” “I know him very well. I know what he is capable of. He has been in the den under different skies. I watch his matches, but right now, we have other options that we are considering. The right moment will come, and we will think of him”, he stated. Christian Kofane, for his part, is reportedly not in top physical condition.
