The Amstel Arena in Orlando, Johannesburg will host the first of two consecutive qualifying matches for the Bafana Bafana for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 against Kenya next month.
The South African team, Bafana Bafana, will face the squad led by Benni McCarthy on Friday, November 13, 2026, before heading to Nairobi for the second match, scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, 2026. The kickoff in Orlando will be at 18:00.
These two encounters will hold particular significance, as McCarthy will meet his home country for the first time as the coach of Kenya and will also have the opportunity to go head-to-head with his counterpart Pitso Mosimane on home soil.
The Bafana Bafana lead Group D after winning both of their AFCON qualifying matches in September 2026. Mosimane's team triumphed over Guinea 2-1 in Johannesburg, then crushed Eritrea 5-0 in Egypt. Additionally, the South African men's team also defeated Egypt 1-0 in Cairo during this period.
These performances have propelled the Bafana Bafana up the FIFA rankings, where the team is now ranked 48th in the world and 10th on the continent.
Mosimane will unveil his preliminary squad in the coming days. Tickets are available starting at 100 rand for adults and 40 rand for children aged 5 to 12.
