One month after his appointment, Patrick Vieira is set to officially take over as head coach of Senegal. The Senegalese Football Federation announced that the new coach will be presented to the media on September 18 in Dakar.
This meeting will primarily serve as an opportunity to unveil his first squad since taking office. Among the already confirmed absentees is Édouard Mendy, who has chosen to retire from international duty.
The schedule will leave little time for the coach to prepare for his debut. The Lions will travel to Mozambique and Ethiopia for the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, before playing a friendly match against Comoros in Marseille.
