Senegal's bid to host the 2032 Africa Cup of Nations is progressing in its evaluation process. According to the daily Source A, a delegation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is currently in the country to assess the infrastructure and services required to organize this continental event.
The visits began at the Léopold Sédar Senghor Stadium, continuing to the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio and its annex. Health infrastructure is also a priority for the mission, including an inspection of the polyclinic hospital in Dakar.
In addition to sports and medical facilities, transportation and accommodation aspects are also being considered. Inspectors have notably tested the regional express train and the toll highway, two essential routes for travel between the city and its surroundings.
To organize this initiative, a temporary steering committee has been formed, bringing together several stakeholders, including the Ministry of Sports and the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF). The final visits of the mission are scheduled at the Iba Mar Diop Stadium and the King Fahd Palace Hotel, before the end of the tour on Wednesday.
