Moroccan defender Mahmoud Bentaïg will miss the upcoming matches for Zamalek's first team due to an injury sustained during the clash with Al Ahly in the Cairo derby, part of the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League, which ended with a 2-0 victory for the Red Devils.
Medical examinations revealed that the player is suffering from a hamstring tear, requiring a recovery period of 21 days to 4 weeks before he can return to team training and participate in matches, depending on his response to the treatment and rehabilitation program.
Bentaïg's absence poses a challenge for Zamalek's coaching staff, led by Moataz Gamal, as important matches await the team in the near future, most notably the encounter against Rwandan army team in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, scheduled to take place next Friday in Rwanda.
