El Gouna finished the first half leading Petrojet by a single goal in their match at Borg El Arab Stadium, part of the eighth round of the first phase of the Egyptian Premier League.
Marwan Mohsen put El Gouna ahead by scoring in the 36th minute from a penalty awarded by the referee after a handball by a Petrojet defender. He executed the penalty expertly to the right of Amgad Youssef, who attempted to reach it but the ball found the back of the net.
