The Namibia national team, the Brave Warriors, has arrived in Russia to prepare for their international friendly match against the Russian national team, scheduled for October 3 in Yekaterinburg.
The team received a warm welcome in Russia, with each member of the delegation receiving a piece of green malachite, a stone closely associated with the Ural region, along with a traditional welcome bracelet.
The Comoros secured their first victory in the qualifiers for the TotalEnergies CAF PAMOJA Africa Cup of Nations 2027 by defeating Namibia 1-0 in their second group G match on Tuesday.
Benjaloud Youssouf scored the decisive goal in the 54th minute after a scoreless first half, allowing the Comoros to earn three valuable points following their 3-1 loss to Cameroon in their opening qualifying match.
Namibia, which started its campaign with a 1-0 victory over Congo, failed to equalize despite several substitutions in the second half as they sought to secure a draw. This result leaves the Comoros, Namibia, and Cameroon tied on three points, although the Indomitable Lions have played one match less.
