Asamoah Gyan joins the technical staff of Ghana's Black Stars. The former striker will be responsible for communication between clubs and players.
The Ghana Football Association announced Asamoah Gyan's new role through a statement on its official website. The former Black Stars goal scorer is now appointed as the Player and Club Relations Officer.
“As the Player and Club Relations Officer, Gyan will play a key role in liaising between the technical team, players, and clubs, facilitating communication regarding call-ups and player welfare, while also providing mentorship and support to the players,” the GFA outlines the mission of the all-time top scorer for the Black Stars.
The association is particularly relying on the former player's experience to motivate the athletes. “His experience, leadership, and close relationships with the current generation of players should be a significant asset for the team.”
