Hazem Emam: If Guardiola were here, he wouldn't achieve anything with Zamalek due to the lack of solutions.
Hazem Imam, the former Zamalek star, stated that the white team's defeat against Al Ahly in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League does not mean the end of their chances, noting that Zamalek congratulated Al Ahly last season before managing to win the league title.
Imam: We congratulate Al Ahly and we will win the league
Hazem Imam said during the analysis studio on ON Sport: "We congratulate Al Ahly, this is natural. Last year we congratulated them and succeeded in winning the league," emphasizing that the result of the match does not determine the shape of the competition for the title, and that Zamalek has the ability to bounce back.
The former Zamalek star added that Al Ahly performed well in the match, but the game could have ended in a draw with one goal for each team, considering the chances that were available to both teams, pointing out that the result does not necessarily reflect the complete difference in the level of the two teams during the match.
Lack of alternatives for Moataz Gamal
Hazem Imam criticized the conditions in which Moataz Gamal, the Zamalek coach, is working, explaining that it is unrealistic to expect continuous victories from the coach without providing suitable alternatives on the bench, even though the team includes a group of good players.
He pointed out that Zamalek is facing a shortage of technical solutions and substitutes capable of making a difference, which was evident during the substitutions made in the match, especially the exit of Abdullah El-Said and the entry of Mohamed Hamd, in addition to the exit of Ahmed Fattouh and the entry of Esho.
Hazem Imam clarified that Zamalek tried to pressure Al Ahly for the entire 90 minutes, despite relying on several young players, which increases the difficulty of the task in a match of such magnitude that requires significant experience and diverse physical and technical abilities.
Guardiola wouldn't make a difference for Zamalek due to lack of solutions
Hazem Imam concluded his statements by affirming that the problem does not lie solely with Moataz Gamal, saying that even having a coach like Pep Guardiola instead of him would not bring about a significant change under the current circumstances and the absence of suitable solutions and alternatives, as any coach needs players capable of implementing his ideas and handling the demands of big matches, stating: "If Guardiola can't do anything because he doesn't have solutions."
