Hossam Abdel Rabbo: Al Ahly did not take control of Ismaily players, and the administrations failed to keep the stars.

Former Egyptian football star Hosny Abd Rabo revealed the reason behind the dispute that arose between him and Ahmed Hossam "Mido" during the latter's time as head coach of Ismaily SC, discussing the impact of Ismaily players moving to Al Ahly.

Hosny Abd Rabo stated in an interview on the "Malab On" program: "I feel proud of the love from the fans for whom I played. My relationship with Mido is based on friendship and affection, but disagreements can occur between brothers. What happened between us at Ismaily was merely a misunderstanding. The team captain is the coach's right-hand man, and the locker room is the foundation of success in football."

Hossam Hassan was like a father to us

The Kaiser added: "We are the children of Hossam Hassan, and the relationship between the coach and the player is extremely important. Fans criticized Mohamed Nagy 'Gedo' for not scoring goals with the national team, but with Hossam Hassan's confidence, he returned to score in 2010. The coach is like a father to the players, and there is no generation that hasn't faced challenges and difficulties."

The Strasbourg case prevented my professional career

Hosny Abd Rabo continued: "Top players should receive moral appreciation. The case related to Strasbourg with Ismaily prevented me from moving to big clubs. I wanted to continue my professional journey and was confident in myself and my abilities. I received offers from Benfica, Osasuna, and others at that time."

Hosny Abd Rabo: I started my career as a striker

He added: "At the beginning of my career, I played as a striker, and then Ali Abu Greisha asked me to play as a libero due to an injury to the defender, and I continued in that position for a while. Later, we played a friendly match with the national team, and Hossam Hassan asked Ali Abu Greisha to include me in the squad, then he positioned me in midfield."

Al Ahly did not steal Ismaily players

He concluded: "All respect and appreciation to Al Ahly fans, and Al Ahly did not recruit Ismaily players from their homes. Football is professional, and we blame the boards of directors for neglecting the stars. I am against erasing the history of any player like Barakat, Al Nahhas, and others who played for Ismaily before Al Ahly. Mohamed Shawky is the best player I played with, and Mohamed Hamis did not receive his due recognition."
