The first team of Al Masry SC secured a victory over Smouha SC with a 1-0 scoreline in a friendly match held this evening, Wednesday, at the Military Academy Stadium.
Al Masry is set to face Ceramica in the first round of the Cairo Capital Cup, scheduled for 8 PM on Thursday, October 7, at the New Suez Stadium.
The match featured an atmosphere reminiscent of official league games, with both teams exchanging control during the first half, which ended in a goalless draw. In the second half, Al Masry increased their attacking pressure early on, and Salah Mohsen, as usual, converted this dominance into the only goal of the match, scored in the 55th minute. After the goal, Al Masry sought to extend their lead, while Smouha attempted to equalize but to no avail, resulting in a 1-0 victory for the Green Eagles. This win mirrors Al Masry's opening league victory, which also came from a goal by Salah Mohsen in the second half of that match.
Al Masry's lineup in the first half included: Mahmoud Hamdy in goal, Karim El-Iraqi, Baher El-Mohamady, Mohamed Hashem, and Mohamed Shokry in defense, with Mohamed Makhlouf and Hassan Ali as defensive midfielders, and Abdullah El-Zayani, Hussein Faisal, and Abdel Rahim Daghmoum as attacking midfielders behind the lone striker, Mounir Tamin.
In the second half, coach Ahmed Sami fielded a lineup consisting of Mahmoud Hamdy in goal, Youssef El-Gohary, Khaled Sobhi, Abdel Wahab Nader, and Mostafa El-Ash in defense, Mahmoud Hamada, Yassine El-Mallah, and Mahmoud Ashraf in midfield, with Ahmed El-Qarmouti, Salah Mohsen, and Karim Bambo in attack. The second half also saw Ahmed Sherif come on as a substitute for Salah Mohsen.
