Eliminated in the repechage, Clarisse Agbégnénou failed to secure a medal at the Judo World Championships on Wednesday in Baku, marking her return seven months after giving birth to her second child. Agbégnénou, 33, was defeated in the quarter-finals by Hungary's Anna Kriza, then lost in the repechage to Mongolia's Enkhriilen Lkhagvatogoo. "It's disappointing, I was mediocre in the last two matches, really, there's no other word for it than I was mediocre and I expected to be at a better level," said the visibly dejected 2020 Olympic champion, who aimed for a seventh world title in Azerbaijan.
