German club Leipzig is moving towards permanently retaining Moroccan international Naim Ainaoui, expressing its desire to activate the option to buy his contract from Italian club Roma for €25 million, due to the impressive performance the midfielder has shown since joining the team on loan.

German network “Sky Sport” reported that Leipzig's management is working to finalize arrangements regarding the Moroccan player's future, intending to sign a long-term contract with him after he established himself as a key player in the lineup recently.

Leipzig's efforts are not limited to Ainaoui; they also aim to keep the services of Bryan Gil, who is on loan from English club Brighton, which could raise the total cost of the two deals to around €50 million, with €25 million for each player.

Despite the progress made in preparations for Ainaoui's new contract, Leipzig has not yet officially announced the activation of the purchase option, according to the report, as they await the completion of the necessary procedures to finalize the Moroccan international's future.

This move comes as the German club seeks to retain the players who have positively impacted the team and enhance its stability in preparation for upcoming challenges, while Ainaoui's future remains tied to the official actions that Leipzig and Roma will undertake.

It is worth noting that Ainaoui has participated in 8 matches with Leipzig during the current football season in the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League, contributing one assist in the Bundesliga.
