Moudi Chlata, star of Al-Qanah, spoke about his team's draw against Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League yesterday, as well as his impressive goal against Mostafa Shobeir.
Moudi Shalata: My entire family are Al Ahly fans, and I turned down the chance to join Zamalek trials.
Moudi Chlata's Statements
Chlata mentioned in his conversation with Karim Ramzy on Mega FM: "The past period hasn't been the best for me, but I entered the match against Al Ahly confident in my ability to deliver a strong performance, thanks to Abdel Nasser Mohamed who has supported me a lot recently."
He added: "The name Chlata belongs to my father. I dreamed of playing in the Premier League, but everything comes at the right time. I started my career in Benha and went for trials at Al Ahly and Zamalek. I didn't succeed in Al Ahly's trials and was sad about my exit, but my father told me that Barakat was also cut from Al Ahly's trials and then returned to become a great player."
He continued: "I rejected offers from Zamalek because of the distance, and my whole family are Al Ahly fans. There was a sense of awe facing Al Ahly, and we felt we were in good form, so I told myself I had to achieve something for myself against Al Ahly."
He added: "My team was very close to winning against Al Ahly yesterday in the Egyptian league. Mohamed Hani is a great player and a big captain, but I wasn't focusing on him; I was looking at myself and wanting to deliver something for myself, my coach, and my team."
He continued: "We felt disappointed after the draw against Al Ahly, but Al Ahly is known for capitalizing on missed opportunities and managed to equalize. Overall, we delivered a strong performance. I dream of joining the Egyptian national team and turning professional, and talking about Al Ahly and Zamalek is premature; I hope for success from God."
