Espérance de Tunis announced last night, Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the death of its former player Bayram Dhaouadi, aged 18, without providing further details regarding the circumstances of his death at such a young age. Today, clarifications were given by former deputy Majdi Karbai, who lives in Italy, in a Facebook post published this morning, Wednesday, October 7.

Bayram Dhaouadi, born in 2008, lost his life in Rome, the Italian capital: he was found dead with suspicious injuries, apparently caused by a sharp weapon, he stated.

The death of Bayram has been an immense shock for his family, his sports circle, and all who knew him; it has also caused deep sadness and great pain within the Tunisian community, both in Italy and Tunisia.

In this context, Majdi Karbai emphasized an important clarification: “The video currently circulating on social media — showing the assault of a young man in an alley in Italy using a ‘syringe,’ according to the commentator — does not concern Bayram Dhaouadi; there is no link between this video and the circumstances of his death,” he explained, while urging internet users not to share information without reliable sources or official verification, as “the dissemination of erroneous images, videos, or information in such situations risks increasing the family's suffering and misleading public opinion,” he added, promising to seek more precise information regarding the circumstances of Bayram Dhaouadi's death from those closely following the case.

“In these difficult times, the best attitude to adopt is to respect the dignity of the deceased and the feelings of his family, to wait for reliable information from the competent authorities, and not to turn social media into a source of unverified information,” he concluded.
