The truth about negotiations between Al Ahly and the signing of Hamdi Moussa, the Masar defender, in January.
Al Ahly officials have ruled out the possibility of signing Hamdi Moussa, the defender from Masar who plays in the Professional League, during the upcoming winter transfer window. This decision comes as the club is focused on negotiating with other foreign players considered to be better options for strengthening the Red Giants' defense in January.
Masar Defender Suggested for Al Ahly
A source within Al Ahly stated that some have suggested Hamdi Moussa for the club, as officials have begun searching for a distinguished defender in January due to Amr El-Gazzar's injury, which has sidelined him with a torn ACL. Additionally, the performance of several other defenders has been underwhelming, and Yasser Ibrahim has been absent from the pitch for two months due to injury, with the possibility of his departure if his contract is not renewed.
The source mentioned that there are technical difficulties in signing the Masar defender, but he remains one of the available options for the Red Castle at the end of the current season.
Al Ahly Prepares for Match Against المقاولون العرب
On another note, the Al Ahly football team will begin preparations today, Saturday, for their match against المقاولون العرب, scheduled for next Monday in the second round of the Cairo Capital Cup. The coaching staff, led by Hussein Ammouta, aims to utilize the upcoming period to physically and technically prepare the players while continuing to work on correcting the mistakes that have appeared in recent matches.
24-Hour Break for Al Ahly
The team received a break from training yesterday after their victory over Modern Sport with a clean sheet in the Premier League on Thursday evening. It is expected that the Moroccan coach will hold technical sessions with his players to clarify some performance-related observations, particularly regarding defensive positioning, offensive effectiveness, and capitalizing on scoring opportunities. Recent matches have seen the team squander many easy chances and concede goals due to individual errors and lapses in concentration at times.
Continuing Victories in the Cairo Capital Cup
Ammouta hopes to secure a win against المقاولون العرب following his team's 5-0 victory over Petrojet in the first round. The head coach aims to give some players who need playing time the opportunity to participate while maintaining the readiness of the regular starters, especially given the congested fixture schedule and multiple domestic commitments. The match against المقاولون العرب also represents an important opportunity for the coaching staff to continue evaluating player performance and monitor their responsiveness to technical instructions, especially since competition within the team will be open to everyone in the upcoming period, with no guaranteed place for any player who does not meet the required technical and physical standards on the pitch.
