Transfer Market: Abada attracts interest for this winter

After an excellent start to the season with USM Alger, Algerian defender Achref Abada is attracting increasing interest as the winter transfer window approaches. Two potential destinations are emerging for his future.
Achref Abada could become one of the key players to watch during the upcoming winter transfer period. The USM Alger defender is on the radar of several foreign clubs, notably Al Ahly and Al Shamal.
According to reports from Qatari media, Al Shamal has identified the Algerian defender as one of their top priorities to strengthen their defense starting next January. Qatari officials particularly appreciate his profile and the assurances he provides in the central defense.
Al Shamal's interest is notably driven by the injury of Jeison Murillo, who is expected to be sidelined for about three months following his exit during the match against Al Hilal. Strengthening the defensive line has thus become a priority for the club, which sees Abada as a serious option to cover for this absence.
However, the Qatari club is not the only one in the mix. Al Ahly of Cairo is also closely monitoring the player's situation and has reportedly renewed its efforts for a potential signing. Intermediaries close to the Egyptian club have already contacted the defender's entourage to gauge his interest in joining the Cairo giant.
Nevertheless, a potential departure from USM Alger does not seem straightforward. Abada is under contract with the Algerian club until the summer of 2029, and his contract does not include a release clause allowing for a unilateral departure. The approval of the USM Alger management will therefore be crucial for any potential transfer.
As January approaches, the Algerian defender could find himself at the center of a battle between two ambitious clubs, while USM Alger will have to decide on the future of one of its defensive assets.
