The Chad U20 team and the Central African Republic (CAR) finished in a stalemate after a tough but relatively balanced clash between the two sides.
It was a very intense match. Chad and CAR neutralized each other this afternoon at the Olembe Stadium in Yaoundé. The encounter, fairly even, saw several missed opportunities from both teams.
After a dynamic first half, the Central African Republic took the lead over Chad in the 50th minute. The response was swift, with the Sao equalizing in the 60th minute. Both teams continued to create unsuccessful attempts until the final whistle.
This draw puts Chad in a precarious position, seriously jeopardizing their chances of advancing in the competition after their 3-0 defeat to Cameroon. Cameroon, leading the group, has already qualified for the semifinals.
Cameroon will play its second and final group match on Sunday against CAR, aiming to finish at the top of the table. Matches in the Union of Central African Football Federations (Uniffac) tournament also serve as qualifiers for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations 2027, which will be held in Ghana.
