The Morocco women's national team has a new coach. Éric Blahic takes over from Jorge Vilda at the helm of the Atlas Lionesses.
Morocco is preparing to play two friendly matches against Uzbekistan. This will be the first match for the new coach on the sidelines. Éric Blahic is also starting his career as a head coach of a senior women's national team. Throughout his career, he has worked with Corinne Diacre and Hervé Renard in the staff of the French women's national team. Additionally, Éric Blahic has also been involved with clubs such as Guingamp, Sochaux, and PSG.
He takes over a team that Jorge Vilda has shaped over nearly three years. Under the Spaniard's leadership, the Lionesses reached two consecutive finals of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (2022 and 2024).
