The Zamalek U-2007 football team drew 1-1 with the Libyan youth team in a friendly match today. This fixture was part of Zamalek's preparations for the resumption of the youth league and the Libyan team's preparations for the North African Championship qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Zamalek started the match with intense attacking pressure, launching several attacks on the Libyan goal from the early minutes. Moaz Ibrahim scored the opening goal for Zamalek in the 6th minute.
After the goal, both teams exchanged attacks, and Miftah Suwaib equalized for the Libyan team in the 10th minute. Zamalek continued to push for a second goal, but the first half ended in a 1-1 draw.
In the second half, Zamalek increased their attacking efforts, creating numerous scoring opportunities, but failed to convert these chances into goals. Meanwhile, the Libyan team attempted to threaten Zamalek's goal on a few occasions, but the defense held firm.
Both teams continued to push until the end of the match, which concluded in a 1-1 draw. The match also saw Mahmoud El-Shenawy, the first team's goalkeeper, participate with the U-2007 squad.
Zamalek's football sector officials, including Hazem Emam, Emad El-Mandouh, Adel El-Maamour, and Ahmed Gaafar, welcomed the Libyan delegation at the club, led by Musab Al-Bashiri, head of the delegation in Egypt, and Badr Hamid, the technical director of the Libyan Football Federation for youth categories.
