The electoral process within the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFOOT) has reached a crucial phase. By decision N° 010/2026/FECOFOOT/C.E signed on September 11, 2026, by its president Modeste Moussa Ewangoyi, the Electoral Commission has officially convened the electoral body for the Extraordinary Elective General Assembly scheduled for September 26. This step is critical for renewing the leadership of Congolese football, in accordance with the current regulations.

The electoral body includes most key stakeholders in national football, notably the 14 clubs of Ligue 1 (such as AC Léopards, AS Otohô, Diables Noirs, CARA, and Étoile du Congo), the qualified teams from Ligue 2 (Zones A and B), as well as 11 departmental leagues. Specific representatives from the regional leagues of Brazzaville, Pointe-Noire, Niari, Cuvette, women's football, and LINAFJ complete the list of voters.

However, the decision stipulates an essential restriction in accordance with Article 85 of the regulations: interest groups (former players, coaches, referees, and sports medicine) that have not held their own elective general assemblies will not be able to participate in the vote. Sent to the Ministry of Sports, FIFA, and CAF, this decision marks the beginning of the final countdown before a decisive election for the future of football in the Republic of Congo.
