Togo is gearing up for the U23 AFCON qualifiers. The Éperviers are set to begin a preparation camp. They will be led by Kader Cougbadja-Touré, head coach of the local national team.
The Togolese football federation announced the call-up of players for a training camp through a statement. However, more notable than the player call-ups is the appointment of the U23 coach. “A training camp will take place under the guidance of local coach, Kader Cougbadja-Touré,” the FTF stated on its website. No details have been provided regarding the objectives of this assignment or its duration. According to various reports received by our editorial team, he is expected to be assisted in this task by another former international, Olufadé Adekambi.
However, he will commence preparations with around forty players. These players are drawn from both first and second division clubs, as well as training centers. The Togo Éperviers will face Libya in the first round of the U23 AFCON qualifiers. The first leg will take place in Lomé on September 30, followed by the return leg on October 6.
