Hammamet is set to transform into the African golf capital for a week during the All Africa Teams Championship. This continental team championship for amateur men will take place from October 13 to 18, 2026, at Golf Citrus. This marks the first time Tunisia will host this event since the establishment of the Tunisian Golf Federation (FTG) in 1992. The team will feature Bedoui, Boulakmine, Dardouri, and Ben Youssef.

Nineteen delegations and 76 players are expected at the coastal resort of Cap Bon for what the organizers are touting as a record edition in terms of participation. Alongside Tunisia, competing countries will include Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Mauritius, Morocco, Réunion, South Africa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The tournament will be held on the “La Forêt” course at Golf Citrus, an 18-hole, par 72 layout measuring 6,066 meters, designed by American architect Ronald Fream, known for its undulating fairways, water hazards, and holes exposed to the wind.

The Hammamet complex spans 173 hectares, featuring pine forests, olive groves, and seven lakes. Among the standout teams is South Africa, the reigning champion who claimed the title in 2024 in Bulawayo (Zimbabwe), achieving victory in this competition for the twelfth time. Tunisia will be represented by Rabeh Bedoui, Baha Boulakmine, Aziz Dardouri, and Mehdi Ben Youssef.

Bedoui — the 2026 national champion and holder of his sixth Tunisian title — along with Boulakmine and Dardouri are fine-tuning their preparations in Hammamet under the guidance of coach Hatem Nasr, while Ben Youssef continues his training in the United States.

The event will also hold significant institutional importance. On October 16, Hammamet will host the elective general assembly of the African Golf Confederation, responsible for electing the new executive committee for the 2026-2030 term. Leaders from continental federations and representatives from international golf, including those from R&A, are expected to attend. A press conference is scheduled for October 14 at Golf Citrus.
