Édouard Mendy has reportedly decided to end his international career with Senegal. According to information from Taggat, the goalkeeper for the Lions of Teranga, who has 59 caps, has already made his choice, although he has not yet officially announced his international retirement.
According to the same source, the Senegalese goalkeeper has informed Patrick Vieira, the future coach of the Lions, of his decision. The appointment of the former French international as head coach of the Senegal national team has been approved by the Senegalese Football Federation.
Having joined the national team in 2018, Édouard Mendy has left his mark in the history of the Lions. He notably participated in Senegal's victory at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, where they triumphed against Egypt.
