The Federal Bureau of the Algerian Football Federation held a meeting to review and discuss several files related to the development of national football, starting with an evaluation of the use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in the professional league, monitoring the financial management of clubs, and organizing competitions while expanding training and technical support programs.

Refereeing and Video Technology Under Evaluation

The Federal Bureau reviewed the results of using VAR technology during the first seven rounds of the professional league, where it was utilized in 44 out of 50 matches, achieving a coverage rate of 88 percent.

The federation confirmed its commitment to improving the refereeing system through continuous training and precise evaluation of referees' performances, as well as enhancing the use of assistive technologies. It also called on clubs, players, and coaching staff to act responsibly and respect referees and the laws of the game.

In this context, it was decided to organize a promotion exam for referees to the inter-league level on November 1, benefiting referees from the leagues of Béchar and Ouargla.

16 Professional Clubs Under Financial Oversight

To enhance transparency and improve financial governance, the National Committee for Monitoring the Financial Management of Clubs announced a series of bilateral meetings with 16 professional clubs, scheduled from November 8 to 15.

These meetings will focus on reviewing the financial and accounting situations of the clubs, studying their budgets for 2025 and 2026, as well as examining financial documents and monitoring the implementation of budgets and financial commitments.

The list of clubs involved includes CR Belouizdad, Chabab El Djazair, JS Kabylie, MC Oran, MC Alger, JS Saoura, AS Chlef, CS Constantine, Mustaqbal El Ruisat, NA Hussein Dey, USM Alger, Chabab Tamusheet, US Biskra, Olympique de Aïn Boucif, US Khenshela, and ES Sétif.

This initiative aims to prevent economic difficulties that clubs may face and to strengthen the stability of professional football through more precise monitoring of their financial management.

New National Indoor Football Championship for Under 20s

Among the decisions approved by the Federal Bureau is the launch of a new national indoor football championship for the under-20 category, aimed at expanding the base of this sport, discovering young talents, and providing them with greater opportunities for development. This project is part of efforts to create a pool of players capable of supporting the national team in the future, especially following the increasing interest in indoor football after the Algerian national team's first participation in the Africa Cup of Nations, where they reached the semi-finals.

Technical Training: CAF A and CAF Pro, Special Programs for Female Coaches

The National Technical Directorate, led by Ali Mousser, presented the results of its training activities during September and October, which included various levels and specializations as part of a strategy to develop technical skills and improve the quality of coaching in Algerian football.

The programs included CAF training for obtaining the "CAF A" certificate, along with special programs for female coaches, and specialized training for goalkeeping coaches and video analysts.

Training courses for trainers continued in collaboration with FIFA, while the regional technical center in Tlemcen hosted training camps for various groups as part of the "CAF A" program.

At the higher training level, the fifth unit of the "CAF Pro" program was organized from October 18 to 21, alongside ongoing courses for coaches and video analysts in Fouka, as well as women's training programs under the "CAF A" certificate.

These collective files reflect the Algerian Football Federation's commitment to working on multiple parallel fronts, including improving refereeing, enhancing financial oversight of clubs, developing competitions, and investing in basic and specialized training to elevate the level of Algerian football across various dimensions.
