World Cup and FIFA Festival: Algeria's U15 Team Falls to Kenya in Placement Match
The Algerian national U15 team suffered a 4-3 defeat against the Kenyan team on Thursday evening during the FIFA 2026 World Cup and Festival held in Baku, Azerbaijan, despite a hat-trick from Abdelkarim Mahrazi.
This loss came just hours after coach Karim Ziani's squad defeated Estonia 2-1 earlier the same day, with Abdelkarim Mahrazi and Mohamed Islam Laayeb scoring for the national team.
Despite the Greens' success against Estonia, they could not maintain their positive momentum against Kenya, as Mahrazi's three goals were not enough to avoid defeat due to physical exhaustion after playing two matches in one day.
After being eliminated by Guinea on penalties and then losing 4-1 to Albania, the national team is currently competing for positions 25 to 32 in the first-tier ranking and will need to play another match to determine their final placement, vying for either 27th or 28th place.
