The national under-15 youth team suffered a painful defeat on Wednesday against the Guinean team in a penalty shootout during the Round of 32 of the “A” level in the World Cup and FIFA Festival for this age group, held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.

The match between the "Greens" youngsters and their Guinean counterparts ended in a goalless draw. However, luck favored the opponents in the penalty shootout, which ended 4-2 in their favor.

Thus, the journey of coach Karim Ziani's team in pursuit of the “A” level title, which grants the winner the title of under-15 world champion in this festival, comes to an end.

The national team qualified for this round after topping their group with 13 points, achieving 4 wins and a draw, before suffering their first defeat in this global event today.

Despite missing the chance to win the “A” level title, the national team’s participation in the competition will not end. The FIFA Festival system allows all teams to continue playing in ranking pathways. The competitions will conclude on October 30.
