Algerian international Anis Haj Moussa has returned to the spotlight with Dutch club Feyenoord Rotterdam, as discussions intensify about a potential departure during the upcoming winter transfer window. This comes amid ongoing interest from Premier League clubs in his services.
According to Dutch website “Soccer News,” the possibility of the Algerian winger moving in January was discussed during the podcast “Dick voor Mekaar.” Host Michel van Egmond and journalist Martijn Krabendam talked about a scenario where Feyenoord receives a €35 million offer from Newcastle United for the player.
During the conversation, van Egmond suggested that Feyenoord's management might try to increase the offer by €10 million. He believed that accepting an amount of €40 million, if the offer is final and financially guaranteed, could be a difficult decision to make.
There was also discussion about the possibility of reaching an agreement that would allow Haj Moussa to complete the season with Feyenoord before leaving the club next summer. This would ensure that the team benefits from his services during the crucial phase of the season, especially as they aim to compete for the Dutch league title and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Meanwhile, Mikos Gouwka, a journalist covering Feyenoord for Algemeen Dagblad, warned of the difficulty in turning down a large financial offer during the winter transfer window. However, he also noted that the club might not want to part with one of its key players if they are strongly competing for the title.
Despite the speculation, the discussion surrounding Newcastle's €35 million offer and the possibility of raising it to €40 million occurred in the context of a virtual media discussion. This does not confirm the submission of an official offer or determine the player's future.
Haj Moussa was linked last summer with a potential move to Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, but he remained with Feyenoord, and his future is now under close observation as the winter transfer window approaches.
