Eljero Elia is excited about the young Abdellah Ouazane, who is only 17 years old and plays for Ajax. According to the former left winger of Feyenoord and Juventus, among others, the Amsterdam talent should be a regular starter.
Despite the seven points already dropped by Ajax in the Eredivisie this season, the playing style of new coach Míchel Sánchez shows promise, according to Tim Krul.
The former Netherlands goalkeeper, who has played for Ajax and Newcastle United, also credits another newcomer, technical director Jordi Cruijff.
“What Cruijff has implemented at Ajax, with Tolu and Brandt for example, is remarkable,” he says.
Elia speaks up and admits to having great admiration for Ouazane. “The last time I saw a young player do this, it was Ismaïl Aissati,” says the former left winger.
Aissati was trained at PSV's academy before joining Ajax. “I love it,” Elia continues about Ouazane. “This kid just needs to play,” he believes.
“At Ajax, we always say: no matter the age, you play. I believe this is a special case,” concludes the Dutch international with thirty caps.
