The Sao U20 team has exited the competition following the third day of the Central African Football Federations' U20 Championship (Uniffac).

The journey of Chad's Sao U20 ends here. The players, coached by Mahmat Allamine Abakar, were eliminated after a first round that did not meet expectations. After a 3-0 defeat to Cameroon on the opening day, Chad managed to secure a 1-1 draw against the Central African Republic. The Sao hoped for a victory by Cameroon of at least 4-0 against the Central African Republic to have a chance of qualifying. Unfortunately, the final result did not live up to those hopes, as the Indomitable Lions ultimately defeated the Wildcats 2-0 at the end of the match.

Placed in Group A alongside Cameroon and the CAR, Chad played two tough matches and missed several opportunities. With only 12 days of preparation, Chad leaves the tournament with a glimmer of hope.

The next stage of the competition features the semi-finals between Congo and the CAR. With an equal total of points (2+1), the DRC and Gabon await the draw scheduled shortly at Olembe Stadium. The winner of this match will face Cameroon. The two finalist teams will qualify for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Ghana in 2027.
