Ahmed Abdel Maqsoud announces his departure from coaching Petrojet after the loss to Zamalek in the league.

Ahmed Abdel Maqsoud, the coach of Petrojet, announced his departure from the team due to poor results, the latest being a 1-0 loss to Zamalek yesterday in the Egyptian Premier League. The match took place at Borg El Arab Stadium during the seventh round of the competition, with Ahmed Sherif scoring the only goal.

Ahmed Abdel Maqsoud's statement on his personal Facebook page read: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, after seeking guidance and relying on Allah, and after considering all surrounding circumstances, I have decided to resign from my position as head coach of Petrojet. I hope for success in what is good. I sincerely apologize for not continuing my role after a journey I cherish greatly, which began with a significant challenge and a task that seemed almost impossible. Thanks to Allah and the cooperation of everyone, we succeeded in achieving promotion to the Premier League. With the start of the current season, we faced a new challenge in the Premier League with the same strategy and resources, competing against teams with large budgets and capabilities. Despite the difficulty of the task, we exerted our utmost effort and always sought to provide the best for Petrojet and its loyal fans, confirming that the team is not among the bottom four in the standings, reflecting the effort made under the available circumstances. I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Board of Directors of Petrojet, led by the club president, Mr. Ihab Faiz, for the support and cooperation I received throughout my tenure. I also express my utmost respect and love for the great fans of the club, who always deserve the utmost effort to achieve their ambitions and bring them joy. Despite this support and cooperation, the journey was not without some issues and attempts by certain individuals that could have distracted our focus and moved us away from our primary goal. However, I always made sure not to be preoccupied with them, prioritizing the interests of the team and the club above all else, believing that sincerity in work and focusing on achieving goals are the best responses to everything. I leave my position with all respect and appreciation for this great entity, cherishing every moment spent within its walls, proud of what we have achieved together, and wishing Petrojet continued success and prosperity, as well as the ability to pursue its fans' ambitions. Allah is the bestower of success."

Petrojet currently sits in sixteenth place in the Egyptian Premier League standings with 5 points, having won one match, drawn two, and lost four.
