In the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzanian side Simba SC crushed Equatorial Guinea's 15 de Agosto with a heavy score of 6-1. After a competitive first half, which ended with a slight advantage thanks to Chilambo's opening goal in the 43rd minute (0-1), the Tanzanian giants completely exploded after the break.
During the second half, the offensive festival from Wekundu wa Msimbazi completely overwhelmed their rivals. Congolese striker Elie Mpanzu kicked off the scoring in the 56th minute (0-2), followed by a brace from Ibrahima Doumbia (65′, 88′), as well as goals from Keletso Makgalwa (72′) and Alain Oura (82′). The late consolation goal from 15 de Agosto in stoppage time (90+1′) did nothing to change the overwhelming dominance of the Tanzanians.
With this commanding five-goal advantage secured at the Uhuru Stadium, Simba SC has taken a more than definitive step towards qualification for the group stage. The return match, scheduled for Sunday, October 25, is expected to be a mere formality for Elie Mpanzu and his teammates, who have virtually assured their place in the next round.
