The board of directors of Al Nasr Club, led by engineer Hisham Qatb, expressed its condemnation of the unfortunate events that took place at Tanta Stadium following the match between Al Nasr and Tanta, which was held today, Thursday, at Al Nasr's home ground in Heliopolis as part of the fifth round of the Professional League.
Al Nasr Club added in an official statement: At the final whistle, Tanta players, supported by some members of the coaching staff and management, rushed to assault Al Nasr players and the technical and administrative staff in an unacceptable manner. Had it not been for the intervention of the police, the situation could have escalated into something regrettable, as Tanta players displayed violent behavior and attempted to attack Al Nasr players in a scene lacking sportsmanship.
Al Nasr Club expressed its astonishment at the actions of Tanta's coaching staff and players, despite their victory in the match through a controversial penalty (according to Al Nasr's statement). Al Nasr concluded its statement by urging the board and members to call on the competitions and referees committee to take necessary actions against the wrongdoers and aggressors.
