Algeria: Kebaier, Ben Yahia, Maaloul, the Tunisian decline!

It's only October, and coaching departures and dismissals are already making headlines in Algeria.

CS Constantine, after a rather mediocre 2025/2026 season, hoped to bounce back this year by hiring former Tunisia national team coach Mondher Kebaier, but he was sacked after just six matches.

With two wins, one draw, and three losses, the Tunisian coach's record is undeniably negative, but it might be a bit premature to judge his work. As often happens, emotions take over, and the heavy 5-1 defeat against ES Sétif in the East derby was hard to swallow.

Mouloudia d'Alger has once again called on Khaled Ben Yahia last March to continue the work started by Rhulani Mokwena and hope to secure a second Algerian championship title.

After being eliminated in the group stage of the Champions League last season, the Algiers club decided to part ways with the South African coach due to this failure. The 2-0 loss in Nigeria against Enugu Rangers in the first leg of this season's second qualifying round was therefore particularly hard to take.

Although he managed to turn things around with a 3-0 victory in the return leg, allowing the Red and Green to reach the group stage, Ben Yahia has faced intense pressure and now wishes to leave his position with a record of 4 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss!

Finally, a third Tunisian under pressure, Nabil Maâloul, who arrived this summer at CRB, submitted his resignation after a 2-2 draw against his former team, USM Alger, despite leading 2-0.

However, his record stands at 4 wins and 2 draws...
