The conclusion of Vladimir Petkovic's tenure with Algeria has resulted in financial repercussions for the FAF. The Swiss-Bosnian coach, who officially ended his collaboration with the team in August, negotiated the financial terms of his departure.
His new contract, extended before the World Cup, came into effect on August 1 and stipulated a monthly salary of €160,000. To avoid a more costly separation, both parties ultimately opted for an amicable settlement amounting to €480,000, equivalent to three months' salary.
Additional amounts are linked to bonuses outlined in his contract, including a bonus of €150,000 for qualifying for the knockout stage of the World Cup. Petkovic left the Fennecs following their elimination in the Round of 16 against Switzerland.
