As the decisive match between the DR Congo and Equatorial Guinea approaches in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, the president of FECOFA, Véron Mosengo-Omba, personally visited the Stade des Martyrs. This on-site visit was symbolic, during which the leader of Congolese football addressed the journalists present.
Pleased with the state of the Kinshasa infrastructure ready to host the national team, the official first expressed his joy regarding the conditions provided for the participants in the match. “It is a true pleasure to be in this beautiful football infrastructure of our country,” declared the president of the governing body to the press.
However, beyond the enthusiasm, Véron Mosengo-Omba delivered a very clear warning message to the public and all involved parties. By reminding everyone of the heightened vigilance of continental bodies regarding security and organization issues, he emphasized that the DR Congo cannot afford any missteps.
“As you know, we live under the threat of our own behavior,” highlighted the president of FECOFA. A direct reminder and a solemn call for civic responsibility to preserve the nation's image, protect the Stade des Martyrs, and avoid severe disciplinary sanctions that could deprive the Leopards of their supporters during upcoming fixtures.
