The national mixed martial arts (MMA) team has won the African championship that concluded last Thursday in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
The national team achieved a remarkable feat that enhances Algeria's position in this sport on the continental stage. The championship, held from October 12 to 15, featured 168 wrestlers from 19 African countries.
The Algerian team topped the overall standings, securing 8 medals, including 6 golds, 1 silver, and 1 bronze.
The host team, Ivory Coast, came in second with 16 medals, comprising 4 golds, 7 silvers, and 5 bronzes, followed by Burkina Faso, which earned 10 medals (2 golds, 3 silvers, and 5 bronzes).
