Several weeks after their impressive performance at the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations, the Algerian women's national team is back in competition. Farid Benstiti has selected 26 players to face the Central African Republic on October 9 and 13 as part of the Olympic qualifiers.
Farid Benstiti has revealed the roster for the national women's team chosen for the two matches against the Central African Republic, which are part of the second round of the African qualifiers for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. These two encounters are scheduled for October 9 and 13, 2026, at 18:00.
Among the goalkeepers are Chloé Yamina N’Gazi, Amina Haley, and Amel Bernabdallah. In defense, the coach has called up Mélline D’Oria, Célina Ould Hocine, Ouassila Alouache, Morgane Belkhiter, Inès Belloumou, Emma Sahrina Smaali, Lana Smits Ouraghi, and Sarah Compaoré.
In midfield, Melissa Bethi, Wissem Bouzid, Lina Boussaha, Sofia Bekhaled, Nesrine Bahlouli, Amira Ould Braham, Marine Dafeur, Anaïs Oularbi, and Aïcha Hamideche are included. In attack, Laura Taleb Muller, Ikram Adjabi, Lynda Bendris, Célia Aggoune, Inès Khiri, and Nouhed Nail complete the squad. Célina Ould Hocine, Sarah Compaoré, Nesrine Bahlouli, and Anaïs Oularbi will all experience the Algeria A team for the first time, although Oularbi has previously been part of Algeria's youth selections.
The Algerian women will meet for the first time since their remarkable run at the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations. Algeria defeated Ivory Coast (2-1) in the quarter-finals, before losing to Malawi (1-3) in the semi-finals, and then securing third place against Morocco in a penalty shootout (1-1, 3-2 on penalties). This performance also earned them a historic qualification for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil.
