Weeks after winning the bronze medal at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, the Algerian women's national team, known as the Vertes, returns to competition with a crucial match in the qualifiers for the 2028 Olympic Games, and a large crowd is expected to play its part.

The Algerian Football Federation has decided to offer free entry to the 5-July-1962 Stadium for the upcoming match of the women's national team. The Vertes will face the Central African Republic this Friday, October 9, at 18:00, as part of the African qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The FAF has called on the Algerian people to come out in large numbers to support the players led by Farid Benstiti during this decisive encounter. The goal is clear: to create a vibrant atmosphere around the women's team and encourage the Vertes to achieve a favorable result in this two-legged tie.

This match comes just weeks after the remarkable performance at the last Women's Africa Cup of Nations, where Algeria finished on the podium by securing the bronze medal after winning the third-place match against Morocco. The Algerians triumphed in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.

The Vertes now hope to build on this momentum to continue their rise on the continental stage. With free entry at the 5-July Stadium, the women's team can count on significant popular support as they aim to take this new step toward potential Olympic qualification.
