Amr El-Hadidi: It is essential to boost the national team's morale, as maintaining success is a significant challenge.

Amr El-Hadidi, the former star of Al Ahly, emphasized the importance of boosting the morale of the Egyptian national team players in the upcoming period following their achievement at the 2026 World Cup.

The Egypt national football team, led by coach Hossam Hassan, is preparing to face Angola on Friday evening in the first round of the African qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The national team has entered a training camp this September to kick off their continental journey, facing Angola and South Sudan in the first two rounds of the qualifiers on September 25 and 29, followed by a match against South Africa on October 4.

Amr El-Hadidi stated during his conversation with journalist Mohamed Tarek Aida, host of the "El Match" program on Sada El-Balad channel, "Hossam Hassan achieved success with the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup, managing to place the team among the top 16 teams in the world."

He added, "After the World Cup, the names of the Egyptian national team players are engraved in gold letters."

He continued, "However, it is extremely difficult to maintain this success, so we must recharge the players' morale again in the upcoming phase, whether in official or friendly matches as well."

El-Hadidi believed that the Zamalek duo, Mohamed Shahat and Mohamed Ismail, should have been included in the current training camp.

He considered Ali Mahmoud to be a good player but expected strong competition with the national team players and did not anticipate that he would participate as a starter.
